The Chemical Light project is located in the Nanjing Biomedicine Valley R&D Zone, which is the key medical research and development campus of Jiangsu Province, China. The design of the complex is divided into three distinctive buildings to bring more light and nature into the design. Sky walk bridges along the top floors connect the three buildings and offer spectacular views of the surrounding landscape of the Laoshan Mountains.
The exterior courtyard space between the buildings, with a playful combination of vegetation and organic forms is a symbol of molecular polymerization and brings a rich pubic exchange area into the project. Additionally, public open spaces are provided on the first floor of each building to further generate the feeling of openness, movement, and collaboration.
